The links were frozen in position-excess paint appeared to be the cause. Another way to bypass the safety switch yet have it reset is to use a relay. The push button engages the relay, the relay wired to stay engaged until power is removed (key switch off). You will never be able to forget to re-engage the safety switches as it will self reset now.
